Considered simplicity

One purpose. Less distraction.

Open the app, find your direction, put the phone away. Everything else should stay out of the moment.

01

Your location. Your direction.

The bearing changes with where you are. East is not a universal prayer direction.

02

Honest about uncertainty.

A clear approximate state when the sensors or location cannot support a precise result.

03

A useful offline fallback.

Choose your current city or enter coordinates when location access is unavailable.

A moment before prayer

Before you begin

  1. Choose where you are

Use your device location or select your current location manually.

  2. Hold flat, turn slowly

Point the top edge of the phone ahead. Keep away from metal and magnetic accessories.

  3. Take the moment back

Find the direction before the Amidah, then put the phone away.

A few useful details

Does it always point east?

No. It calculates a bearing from your chosen origin toward a provisional Temple-site reference in Jerusalem. Your position determines the direction.

Can I use it without internet?

The calculation, magnetic model, city list and help are bundled with the app. A fresh device location still depends on the phone and its surroundings.

Is it a halachic ruling?

No. The reference point, calculation policy and wording remain under review. This app does not instruct you to turn away from your congregation or move during prayer.
