About Holy Compass
A small tool.
A clear intention.
Holy Compass helps make finding the direction of prayer quick and quiet.
Why this compass exists
Sometimes you are at home. Sometimes you are traveling, or in an unfamiliar city. The idea is simple: find a useful direction before the Amidah, without an account, an advertisement, or a long setup.
Israel, Jerusalem, and the Temple
Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim 94:1 describes facing Israel from abroad, Jerusalem from within Israel, and the Temple from Jerusalem. The app uses one reference point; your location changes the bearing toward it. It does not switch between arbitrary country or city centers.

What is still under review
The Temple-site reference, calculation method and religious wording have not received religious approval. The current calculation uses an initial geodesic bearing on WGS84. This is a development choice, not a claim that one method is universally accepted.
The provisional reference is 31.778° N, 35.2354° E, with a provisional 150 m engineering allowance. It is not a surveyed or approved Holy of Holies location.
The phone does not know everything
Metal, magnetic cases and how you hold the phone can affect its sensors. When uncertainty cannot support precise confirmation, the app shows approximate guidance. A steady reading alone does not prove accuracy.
Find your direction before prayer. This app does not tell you to turn away from your congregation or move during the Amidah. When direction cannot be determined, the source discusses directing one’s heart to Heaven.
Designed to respect the moment
English and Hebrew, light and dark appearance, local calculations, and an offline manual fallback. The current version has no accounts, payments, advertising or sponsored content.
