Location and sensors in the app

After you choose to use your current location, the app requests location access while in use only. Coordinates, reported accuracy, measurement times, heading and motion readings are used for local calculation. The app code does not upload these readings to our server or persist live locations between launches.

You can select a city or enter coordinates instead of granting location access. A manual origin remains in memory for the current app session and is not saved for the next launch. You can revoke permissions in your device settings.

Local preferences

Language, appearance, vibration preference and numerical-bearing preference are stored on your device. The current app has no user account, advertising identifier, app analytics SDK or payment system. Operating-system services remain subject to your Apple or Google settings and their policies.

TestFlight beta testing

TestFlight is an Apple service. Apple may collect and share tester details, usage information, crash reports and feedback with the app developer. This is separate from the compass’s local processing. Screenshots and feedback may include information you choose to add; please avoid precise coordinates, names or other personal details that are not needed to explain an issue.

This public website

This website is hosted by Netlify. Serving pages requires the hosting provider to process technical request information, such as IP address and browser details. The site does not request device location, include a data-collection form, or add analytics, advertisements or tracking cookies on our behalf. Language switching uses ordinary links.

Support and requests

If you contact us, we receive the contact details and content you choose to send and use them to address your request. We retain them while needed to resolve the matter or meet applicable obligations. You may ask about access or deletion, subject to applicable limits. Information held by Apple or Netlify is also governed by their policies.
